Renaming of the Holidays

You know what really grinds my gears?

Everywhere I seem to look now, there's no more Christmas, no more Halloween. It started a few years ago when "Merry Christmas" all of a sudden became "Happy Holidays", and we were lighting the holiday tree instead of the Christmas tree. Now, even more alarming, Halloween was turned into a "Fall Festival" in some schools and workplaces.

I'm not biased, I don't discriminate, I have friends from all different walks of life. We all agree: this is idiodic. I don't celebrate the "fall festival" I celebrate Halloween. I don't have a holiday tree in my home, I have a Christmas tree.

The complaints are that these holidays are "too religious" to celebrate in school, or that forcing kids to learn about these holidays who don't practice them should be against school policy and is hurting the children. Now honestly, when I was younger, I don't ever remember anyone in school ever being scarred for life because we had a Christmas or Halloween party. We celebrated other things too, like Hanukkah and Chinese New Year.

Now all of a sudden it is not good for our children to be exposed to such "religiousness" in school. Newsflash, I was "exposed", and I identify as an athiest now! Go figure. I still celebrate Christmas.

Let's relax all this political correctness and celebrate these holidays as they were meant to be celebrated- we can be all inclusive for all holidays too.

New Blog

Hopefully, I may be more faithful with this blog than the last. I finally decided to get off my couch and create this blog after watching Family Guy last night. After seeing Peter's "You Know What Really Grinds My Gears?" segment, I was inspired to do my own- only with real issues, and probably not as much hilarious humor.

I'll give it a go for as long as you guys let me... and as long as we all realize that Family Guy is owned by Fox, and no money is being made off this blog, &etc.

:D
